Voyago is currently recruiting for an Accountant in London, Ontario.
Your role
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accountant is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of accounting services, budget management and financial reporting functions for the organization. The Accountant provides leadership and guidance to the accounting operational units.
Primary Responsibilities
General Ledger Transactions
- Supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing activities
- Monitors invoicing - daily, weekly, monthly, accruals
- Monthly journal entries - Fuel Surcharges, AP accrual, AR & HST Reallocation
- Reconciles GL accounts
- Prepares timely payment of Corporate Tax, HST and other remittances
- Reviews and approves AP expense batches
- Reviews and approves weekly payments (cheque, EFT, wire, bill payments)
- Completes bank reconciliations
- Approves PTS patient pay customer service credits
- Monitors weekly/monthly broker payments
Financial Reporting
- Assists with audits, prepares working papers, gather testing documents and answer any questions
- Weekly review of AR and AP balance to ensure steady cash-flow
- Additional duties as required
Team Support
- Supports activities of the Sr. Accountant and of finance team for ongoing work quality, and ensuring activities are correct and complete
- Provides work direction in determining methods and procedures to be used, resolving problems, and identifying opportunities for process improvement
Customer Service
- Investigate and answer questions from Operation Managers and Executives
- Resolves customer service issues
Requirements
Your Profile
- You possess a College Diploma/University Degree or Equivalent education in Finance or Accounting
- You posses a recognized accounting designation or have equivalent experience
- You posses the minimum requirement of 3 years experience working in a management or supervisory capacity
- You bring your past Accountant experience to this role
- You have strong Microsoft Office Experience with Word and PowerPoint and advanced Excel working knowledge
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills
- You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- You can provide a Clean Criminal Record Search
- You can maintain a high level of confidentiality
