We are a third generation farming operation, growing and processing baby carrots for retail consumption. We are looking for an individual who wants to work part time hours to handle the bookkeeping and payroll. Since we are in the agricultural sector, we are a seasonal company. From May to December the hours will be 12-16 hours on Mondays and Tuesdays. From December to May the hours will reduce to 4-5 hours on Tuesdays.
Duties Include:
- Full Cycle Bookkeeping
- Biweekly Payroll Processing
- Government Remittances (EHT, HST, Payroll Remittances, WSIB Remittances)
- Month end reconciliation and financial statement preparation
- Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables
Skills
- Proficiency in using accounting software. Ability to grasp AgExpert
- Minimum of 5 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with payroll processing
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work alone and independently
Note: Prior experience as a bookkeeper or accounting clerk is an absolute must.
