About the position:
We are seeking a highly motivated Controller to join our dynamic team. This is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven company. In this role, you will manage our accounting team and oversee all aspects of full-cycle bookkeeping, financial reporting, and compliance. Responsibilities:
- Manage an accounting team consisting of A/R, A/P and billing clerk
- Responsible for full cycle bookkeeping, including preparing monthly financial reports for the management team for multiple companies.
- Working with multiple companies located in Canada, USA and Europe which have intercompany transactions.
- Foreign currency knowledge is necessary. (Hedge experience is an asset)
- Preparation of year-end working papers for the external accountant for multiple companies.
- Semi Monthly Payroll and Monthly Government remittances, WSIB and EHT annual reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of annual Cash Flow projections and maintain operations within the projection.
- Improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
- Work closely with executive team to ensure that company operation is efficient and effective
- Maintain, organize and file documents electronically
- Manage compliance for various government programs/licenses
- Assist in developing a talent acquisition plan and participate in onboarding and offboarding employees
- Administer the group health insurance plan
- Other directives as requested by management
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of accounting experience, 1-2 years HR experience
- Professional designation or certificate in accounting is considered an asset
- Knowledge and understanding of all accounting practices
- Knowledge and experience with Quickbooks Desktop and Online
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (excel, word, etc.)
- Electronic banking experience is a must. (Making payments with ACH, EFT, etc.)
- Willingness to learn new computer programs.
- Produce work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to re/prioritize and manage conflicting priorities
- High flexibility and strong interpersonal skills
- Bilingual (English and French) is considered an asset

Pay: $85,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
