Job Overview:
A National Wholesaler with locations in Ontario, British Columbia and Albetrta, is looking to hire a Corporate Financial Controller The Company provides Warehousing & Distribution services across Canada. We are hiring a Controller to join our team in Paris, Ontario.
The Controller manages all aspects of the accounting and financial functions for our branches and group of companies and plays a strategic role in the management of the business through forecasting, providing budgetary recommendations and supporting growth.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of all day-to-day accounting including AP, AR, payroll, cash flow management, budgeting, General Ledger maintenance and control of assets
- Month-end reconciliations and close procedures to prepare accurate monthly financial reporting on a timely basis
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures and a system of internal controls
- Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
- Management of company overhead expenses and reporting
- Lead and motivate the accounting team, recruit, select and develop an exceptional accounting team
- Work with Senior Management to ensure financial directives are followed
- Work with project management teams to determine project health and profitability and provide recommendations for improvement
- Tracking key performance indicators
- Comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting and tax filings in several provinces
- Communicating effectively and working collaboratively with leadership team and staff across different departments
- Preparation and review of year-end working papers for the external accountants and tax advisors
- Development and improvement of the systems within the accounting department.
- Analysis of capital investment decisions for proposed expenditures
- Support interactions with key relationships, including advisors, clients, vendors and bankers
QualificationsRequirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting/Finance
- CPA designation or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years in an Accounting Manager or Controller position
- Warehousing & Distribution experience is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize important tasks
- Deadline-oriented with a strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of Sage 50 (Simply) would be an asset
- Working knowledge of payroll processes
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
