Position: Bookkeeping Specialist
Location: In-office (Brantford)
Compensation: $25-$35 per hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.
- Vendor Invoices: Process, review, and track vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Deposits & Payments: Handle the depositing of cheques, posting payments, and managing cash clearing activities.
- Credit Card Management: Reconcile credit card statements and track related expenses.
- Refunds & Reimbursements: Process customer refunds and employee reimbursements efficiently.
- Contractor Billing: Set up contractors for billing and ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Month-End Close: Compile requirements for month-end close activities, including preparation and finalization of Profit and Loss statements.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the team to refine workflows and enhance the use of technology in financial operations.
- Reporting & Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation and review of Profit and Loss statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Generate financial reports for management review, providing insights into financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies, maintaining accuracy across all financial data.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the accounting team and other departments to support overall business operations.
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects and analyses as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience using QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in managing payroll, AP/AR, and financial reconciliation.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency with Google Suite (Google Sheets, Gmail, Google Docs).
- Advanced skills in Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience with month-end close processes, P&L preparation, and financial reporting.
- Organizational Skills:
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Problem-Solving:
- Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
- Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new systems and tools.
