The Role: Accounts Payable Clerk
Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing accounts payable and aspects of financial accounting. This individual is autonomous, diligent, responsible, and communicates with ease.
What You’ll Do:
· Help classify all the packing slips while ensuring that they are all signed off on by the site manager
· Manage payable invoices (about 500/month)
· Ensure that all invoices are verified, coded and classified correctly
· Receive clarification and approval from Superintendents for invoices that are missing information
· Help with the preparation of direct payments by collecting documents like receipts, compliance documents from WSIB, etc.
· Ensure bank information of our suppliers is accuratess
· Enter information in Maestro as required
· Reconcile suppliers’ bills
· Manage different administrative tasks such as document classification, photocopying, scanning
· etc.);
· Execute on other tasks that may arise and that have been assigned by Supervisor.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles
- Proficiency in using accounting software
- Experience in accounts payable and invoicing
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus
- Relevant certification or diploma in finance or accounting
