One of our automotive clients in Toronto, ON is looking for an Accountant for their facility.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial data.
Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide insights to management.
Prepare financial forecasts and budgets, and assist in the development of financial strategies.

General Ledger Management

Oversee the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
Reconcile accounts, including bank statements and intercompany accounts.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

Compliance And Audit

Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and support external and internal audits.
Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policies.

Accounts Payable And Receivable

Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor aging reports and manage collections processes.

Inventory And Cost Accounting

Manage inventory accounting and reconciliation processes.
Analyze cost variances and contribute to cost reduction initiatives.
Ensure proper capitalization and depreciation of fixed assets.

Taxation

Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Support tax planning and research activities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the automotive industry.
