Seacore Seafood is a wholesaler of quality fresh and frozen seafood products. We are currently recruiting for a Human Resources/Payroll Generalist. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and communicate new HR policies.
- Manage company's payroll and attendance tracking system.
- Lead all internal and external recruitment initiatives.
- Be the main point of contact for employees' questions and concerns.
- Promote a positive working environment by educating, and coaching employees and management on all employee relation matters.
- Provide guidance and lead employee engagement strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with the corporate culture.
- Train all new employees on the orientation packages.
- Train all employees to ensure training guidelines and compliance.
- Assist and coach management with the performance management process, ensuring timely completion and tracking of completed reviews.
- Develop and revise job descriptions and training plans, as needed.
- Coach managers on progressive discipline procedure and the separation process.
- Conduct exit interviews and document recommendations for improvements, if applicable.
- Review and prepare HR related letters, memos, notices, and job offer letters.
- Ensure employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting, including internal investigations of misconduct, workplace violence and harassment incidents.
- Manage WSIB work-related claims, and Long Term Disability non work-related claims by initiating the return to work process and communicating with all the parties involved.
- Active member on Joint Health and Safety Committee, Emergency Response Team and First Aid Committee.
- Respond to inquiries and provide guidance to employees and management regarding company's group benefit program.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
- 1-2 years of experience processing payroll.
- Experience using Ceridian Dayforce (asset).
- Completion of a Human Resources Program, additional related training and a CHRP/CHRL designation an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of current legal and employment legislation in Ontario.
- Demonstrated ability to coach Supervisors and Managers.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a stand-alone role.
- Be able to work independently or as part of a team on multiple projects.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and remain objectives in all cases.
