The Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist is responsible for supporting the execution of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and some Treasury functions as well as related accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports and property related contractual obligations for payment and posting into accounting system.
- Reconcile the A/P sub-ledger account balances with vendor records for major accounts.
- Process remittance payments and preparing related reports.
- Process cheque and EFT payments.
- Support with building reporting for the Accounts Payable function.
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and process sales invoices and post into accounting system.
Treasury
- Perform daily cash reconciliation.
- Support with daily banking report processing.
- Support with building reporting for the Treasury function.
Overall
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks.
- Support various projects on an as needed basis.
- Maintain inquisitive mindset and identify opportunities for improvement to process.
- Provide support to and maintain a positive working relationship with all departments to build positive employee attitudes and morale.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 0-2 years of work experience in accounts payable/receivable and general accounting.
- University degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP (preferred).
- Ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task.
- High level of integrity, confidentially, accountability, and teamwork.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present analysis and finding in both verbal and written format.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and anticipate future needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant business teams
- Highly motivated and proactive.
