L.G. Home Comfort Inc. is looking for a Bookkeeper in Mississauga, ON!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You will collaborate with management to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations. This is a full-time position, based out of our head office located in Mississauga at 7885 Tranmere Drive
What You’ll do as a Bookkeeper at L.G. Home Comfort Inc.:
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all sales and payment transactions into the General Ledger (GL).
- Perform regular reconciliations between the General Ledger, SalesForce records, and payment gateways to ensure consistency in financial data
- Generate daily accounts receivable (AR) aging reports ensuring reports are detailed, accurate, and distributed in a timely manner.
- Act as a liaison between the company and collection agencies to facilitate the recovery of overdue payments
- Receive, review, and accurately post supplier invoices and bills into the GL, ensuring all expenses are categorized correctly.
- Work closely with operational departments to review and verify subcontractor work, ensuring accurate billing and timely approvals.
- Collaborate with the accounting clerk and other departments to ensure proper allocation of costs, such as subcontractor expenses and sales bonuses.
- Prepare and distribute daily accounts payable (AP) aging reports, offering a comprehensive view of outstanding obligations and due dates.
- Process payments, including issuing checks for approved invoices, ensuring that all payments are made on time and are properly documented.
- Regularly input expenses into accounting software (QuickBooks Online Advanced), ensuring each transaction is accurately categorized and supported with appropriate documentation.
- Maintain organized and accessible records of all supporting documents for transactions, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and facilitating easy retrieval.
- Review and validate employee expense reports to ensure they meet company policy standards and comply with internal controls before reimbursement.
- Monitor the submission and filing of 5018 forms, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for relevant transactions.
- Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Calculate and submit Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) reports as required, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations.
- Assist the Financial Controller with closing activities at month-end and year-end, including finalizing reports, verifying entries, and making any necessary adjustments to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Administer payroll on a semi-monthly basis using ADP Workforce, ensuring all payroll data is accurate and in compliance with applicable labor laws and company policies.
- Prepare and distribute T4 forms for all employees annually, ensuring all wages, benefits, and deductions are correctly reported to meet Canadian tax requirements.
- Performing additional functions as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within the service industry.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., Canadian GST/HST laws).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, Salesforce and ADP Workforce is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and record-keeping.
- Capacity to handle large volumes of financial data and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High degree of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
