Overview
As the Commissions and Accounts Receivable Specialist, reporting to the Ontario Finance Director, you will be a part of the National Finance team. In this role you'll perform a broad range of commission accounting activities within the finance unit, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all commission processing. As well as support the reporting process for client and insurer receivables and oversee national accounts receivable collections. You'll play a significant role in the day-to-day operations of the company, interacting with Sales Leaders, Producers, Finance and Client Service Teams.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Prepare periodic sales commission, employee bonus and compensation reports
- Review monthly Producer compensation including calculation of all applicable commission adjustments pursuant to Sales staff contracts
- Review Producer & Employee Contracts
- Prepare journal entries & reconciliations related to Producer commissions
- Assist with the reporting on client and insurer receivable to monitor aging or growing balances and implement action plan as the need arises
- Responsible for handling AR collections nationally with the support of the Regional Finance Directors to ensure accounts receivable records are up to date and provide support when needed
- Monthly AR analysis
- Work with Sales staff to collect overdue amounts
- Work with collection agencies when required on large overdue balances
- Other Finance initiatives and project work when needed
About You
- You bring experience in an accounts receivable role, or similar financial role, within a payroll function, commissions and sales environment
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- SQL knowledge is preferred but not required
- You've participated in A/R and revenue recognition processes for multiple entities
- Well-organized, self-directed teammate; you have a resourceful approach, and strong problem-solving aptitude
- Stong collaboration skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships
- Knowledge of MS Office including Excel spreadsheet; ability to coordinate and summarize large volumes of date in Excel
- Accounting systems, ERPS, billing management systems and CRMs are second nature to you; experience using EPIC will be considered an asset
