Job Description:
Surgical office looking for a full-time medical office assistant. This is an ideal position for an individual who is seeking a small, professional and collegial work environment with growth and promotion potential.
As the medical office assistant you would work with two specialist surgeons and be responsible for managing their shared practice and fulfilling administrative duties.
It is expected the successful applicant will:

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Delivering an exceptional experience to all patients as you greet them either in person or over the phone
- Registering patients on arrival for their appointment
- Phone communication: making and answering phone calls, taking messages
- Scheduling patients for appointments, tests, hospital procedures and surgeries
- Filing documents electronically in the EMR
- Maintaining physician calendars
- Providing patient instructions for procedures, surgery, colonoscopy etc..
- Processing and submitting OHIP and insurance claims
- Supply/Inventory: managing and ordering supplies, assessing inventory needs; maintaining office appearance
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong client service skills
- Exemplary work ethic, professionalism, organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Proficient computer skills including data entry, e-mail and electronic medical record navigation. Accuro EMR and Powerchart experience is an asset
- Information processing: phone, fax, scanning/document management, voicemail
- Appropriate post-secondary qualification or recent similar experience

Salary: Annual salary negotiable, competitive salary
Benefits: 3-4 weeks paid annual vacation + all statutory holidays
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 0800-1600, Fridays 0800-1300, no weekends
Remote Work: Up to 1 day per week
