About The Role:
As the
Corporate Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of month-end tasks, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. As a critical member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting and optimizing financial processes which are critical to the integrity of the monthly results.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Month-End Close Process: Execute all month-end close activities for the Corporate Accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all tasks.
- Reconciliations: Perform and review balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations for all accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries related to month-end closing, including accruals, prepaids, and other necessary adjustments.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data, comparing actual results to budgeted or forecasted numbers, and investigate significant variances.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other finance teams such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy of financial data as well as the timely close of month-end.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure that month-end processes comply with internal controls and company accounting policies.
- Audit Support: Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits as needed, particularly in relation to month-end activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the month-end close cycle to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Who You Are:
- You have or are working towards your CPA certification
- You have working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS/SOX
- You have strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask and prioritize workload in a deadline-driven environment.
- A collaborative team player with a customer-centric mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
- You have 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role
- You have excellent working proficiency with Excel
Nice To Have:
- Experience working in an advertising or professional services firm is preferred
- Experience in accounting/reporting tools such as Maconomy, Mediaocean, Onestream, and Blackline
- Practical experience with the application of Revenue Recognition Accounting principles
