Senior Accountant for a temporary position with our client, a leading player in the manufacturing/automotive industry. The role is based in Mississauga, ON, and the pay ranges from $40-50 per hour. This position will focus on accounting for inventory, intercompany trade shipments, cost centers, and more. Responsibilities:
- Managing intercompany trade shipments and inventory processes, including revaluation and reclassification of inventories.
- Overseeing sub-ledgers for RM, WIP, FG, and in-transit inventory.
- Allocating inventory and expenses to appropriate cost centers (CC).
- Participating in the Materials Review Board (MRB) to ensure scrap provisions align with Nonconformance (NCEP) policies.
- Reclassifying non-R&D allocations to R&D charges, ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures.
- Identifying and reclassifying scrap from production order variances.
- Preparing account reconciliations and proactively investigating reconciling items.
- Implementing internal control procedures to ensure inventory counting and financial reporting requirements are met.
- Monitoring and preparing journal entries in line with accounting policies.
- Providing deep involvement in inventory procedures and business processes.
- Collaborating with the FP&A team for forecasting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Summarizing findings and providing meaningful analysis to support business decisions.
- Supporting audit and compliance requirements.
- Participating in ad-hoc special projects and analysis as needed.
- Adhering to corporate and quality policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Over 3 years of comprehensive accounting and costing experience.
- Advanced academic qualification in accounting.
- Proficiency in SAP software.
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with general ledger operations and procedures for month-end/year-end closures.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent time management skills.
