This position will be based in Toronto and the schedule will be Monday to Friday.
The Role
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Specialist, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
We are looking for a motivated individual with strong Excel skills and a background in Accounting/Accounts Payable to join our team.
Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To
- Receive and enter invoices into accounting software.
- Facilitate the process of obtaining approvals and coding for all invoices.
- Ensure invoice three-way matching is completed including verifying supporting documents if necessary.
- Review invoices and statements to ensure that all the information appearing in them is accurate and complete.
- Reconcile vendor statements and ensure that invoices are processed in a timely manner.
- Reconcile A/P Aging reports.
- Communicate with suppliers in relation to payment status inquiries.
- Maintain log of invoices with variances and coordinate resolution with the procurement team.
- Manage approval process for non-purchase order invoices
- Process weekly ACH/wire/cheque payments, as well as rush payments as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Must Haves)
- 1-2 years of Accounts Payable/Accounting experience with small to medium size companies.
- Previous experience with Ellipse or similar accounting software.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Post-secondary education in accounting/finance.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Experience in manufacturing (mining) will be an asset.
