Responsibilities
- Posting of all Vehicle Sales (Deals): Write and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting procedures.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Accurately process and review invoices, payments, and transactions.
- General Ledger Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile deal-related accounts and schedules, including receivables, incentives, inventory, and finance contracts.
- Backup Reception: Provide backup reception coverage as needed, which will aid in learning the dealership business.
- Administrative Support: Assist with data collection for performance reports, month-end closings, and general administrative tasks.
- Cash Handling: Process payments and bank deposits as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of related accounting experience in the automotive industry (preferred).
- Proficiency with accounting software and PC-based tools such as Excel, Google Sheets and Word. The dealership uses CDK dealership/accounting software.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn about the retail automotive industry.
- Comfort with technology and IT systems.
- Applicant must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and willing to work in the dealership office full time (no work from home).
