FULL-TIME ACCOUNTS PAYABLE POSITION – METRO TRUCK GROUP, STONEY CREEK, ON.
The Metro Truck Group is a full-service centre for all heavy truck and trailer needs, providing a large base of services across ten convenient locations. We are rapidly growing and, in our expansion, we are looking to add to our AP team at our Head Office & Elite Dealership residing in Stoney Creek.
The Accounts Payable clerk will be responsible for managing the day-to-day processing of vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will work closely with our finance and purchasing teams to ensure smooth operations within the company’s accounts payable processes.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts for payment authorization
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including data entry, coding, and posting
- Prepare and execute payments via checks, etransfers, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments and handle payment inquiries
- Maintain vendor records and ensure that all documentation is up to date
- Assist with month-end closing procedures by preparing accounts payable reports and ensuring proper documentation is filed Perform accounting functions for various branches and/or subsidiaries
- Commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment to ensure customer satisfaction
- Work alongside co-workers, and management in a cooperative manner
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures as set out by the Metro Truck Group of companies
- Uphold strong communication, organization and time management skills; ability to interact effectively with customers and all levels of staff
- General housekeeping duties
- All other responsibilities as assigned
Education & Qualifications:
- An Accounting / Business Accounting Diploma considered strong asset
- 2-5 years of AP experience
- Competent computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Excellent time management skills, with ability to be adaptive in a fast-paced office environment
- A successful candidate will possess both excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A positive attitude with the ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
- A valid driver’s license with/or reliable transportation to and from the office Monday through Friday.
