Purpose:
The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 24,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 24 Departments, Schools and Colleges. Through innovative course design, diverse experiential education and learning opportunities, and a supportive community environment, our students receive the education they need to create big ideas that have an impact on the world.Reporting to the Director, Operations Management, the Program & Administrative Assistant (P&AA) role provides course support to undergraduate and graduate faculty members, administrative support to undergraduate and graduate programs/committees, program support and front desk service for the academic unit within the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS). The role contributes positively and professionally to the team, the department and the Faculty, including fostering an environment that is welcoming and supportive for students and provides student-centered service delivery. This role provides support to Schools/Departments throughout the Faculty and will be assigned to work with different Schools/Departments on an as needed basis, such as backfilling vacancies. The role supports the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional studies and York University, and contributes to a positive, supportive, and client-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement and embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.
Education:
High school diploma with some post-secondary education courses).
Experience:
Three (3) years of related experience providing front line support and academic administration. Experience with full-time faculty recruitment, tenure and promotion, and knowledge of undergraduate or graduate program processes is required.

Knowledge of an on-line computerized records system (e.g., SIS), (GEM).
Knowledge of Course Equipment Order (CEO) system.
Demonstrated efficient student-focused service delivery and customer service capabilities.
MS 365, including intermediate word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel) and email skills (Outlook).
Experience with updating websites, using Contribute and/or WordPress is an asset.
