We are seeking to add a detail-oriented and motivated bookkeeper who wishes to utilize their bookkeeping experience in a specialty finance environment, where our focus is on serving injured victims and the legal community with creative financing solutions. Candidates should have at least FIVE (5) years of bookkeeping experience in a small to medium size business.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany transfers
- Posting monthly, quarterly and year end adjusting entries as required
- Generating information for year-end financial statements
- Supporting the firm’s internal controller and external accountants as required
- Prepare Government remittances, Source Deductions, Corporation Tax, HST
- Prepare Monthly Payroll and source deductions
- Set up client files and assist with the completion of budgets and administrative planning
- Process and administer accounts payable
- Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with management to develop resolutions
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a bookkeeping role within a small to medium size business
- Accounting degree, diploma and/or certificates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Proficiency in Sage 50 and Quickbooks
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be self-motivated with an ability to meet deadlines
