Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Salary: Starting at $115,000 depending on experience plus bonuses
We are seeking a passionate, driven, and hardworking Controller.
As a Controller at Accumetal Manufacturing, you will oversee all aspects of financial management including establishment of financial policies and procedures, development of internal controls for accounting and purchasing functions and preparation of monthly financial reports. Additionally, performs Human Resource related functions and executes supervisory role over a selection of office staff. What you will do:
- Create all monthly and year-end financial reporting activities.
- Responsibility for management of bank accounts and financial account reconciliation.
- Assist with weekly payroll activities using Payworks software, as well as any payroll related activities such as garnishee orders, confirmation of employment letters, etc.
- Complete any necessary remittances, i.e. HST, WSIB, etc,
- Manage foreign exchange accounts.
- Maintain financial books of associated numbered companies.
- Oversee and monitor all accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
- Generate and compile various reports, as required by management, through Job Boss, SQL and Crystal.
- Act as Supervisor for Customer Service Representatives, Material Planner, Human Resources Generalist and Accounting Clerk; providing training, support and conducting performance appraisals.
- Perform Human Resource related functions such as creating job postings, screening applicants, managing administration of group RRSP and benefit plans, maintaining time and attendance records, ensuring compliance with ESA and Human Rights legislation, etc.
- Participate in management meetings to plan and strategize around achieving organizational objectives.
- Develop annual operational budget based on forecasted sales.
- Work collaboratively with internal business partners in the achievement of business objectives.
- Communicate with external parties such as financial institutions, CRA, WSIB, customers, vendors, etc.
- Perform other duties which support general operational needs such as ordering supplies, managing IT, performing health and safety related functions.
- Authorize expenses.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need to succeed:
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to attend both Stratford and Woodstock offices.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Accounting designation such as CPA.
- 5+ years’ progressive accounting experience.
- Experience with Material Resource Planning and/or Payroll software systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, SQL, Crystal and Access.
