Job Summary:
Hog Slat, Inc., the world's leading provider of equipment and turnkey facilities to the swine and poultry industries, is seeking an Bookkeeper to join the team under our Hog Slat Holdings, Inc. division at our location in Mitchell, ON.
As Bookkeeper your primary responsibilities will be to prepare payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions and general administrative duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.
- Manage and monitor Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- A/P functions include entering invoices, setting up vendor accounts, and issuing payments
- A/R functions include posting of customer deposits, past due account collection, month end statements, setting up customer accounts
- Payroll functions include submitting time sheets, balancing payroll accounts, preparing new employee paperwork, managing the Group Benefits and Group RSP plan
- Implement Health and Safety plan
- Prepare all government remittances, including HST & Employee Remittances
- General clerical duties include answering incoming calls, getting mail, making bank deposits, and filing
Skill/Knowledge Required:
The IDEAL CANDIDATE will have the following experience/educational background:
- 3+ years of recent experience in an office administrator role
- Previous accounts payable/accounts receivable/accounting experience is required
- Must have very strong data entry/typing/computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to use Outlook Email, Word, Excel, in daily communications
- Ability to easily become proficient at using Hog Slat's inventory management software.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
- A friendly and professional demeanor is required
- Must have diploma in accounting or a minimum of 2-year work experience in accounting
