Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices. Experience with payroll, bank reconciliation, and accounts receivable is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
· Act as central point of contact for all client and staff bookkeeping related questions
· Entering, monitoring, and paying Accounts Payable
· Reconciling trust and general accounts
· Filing of HST and corporate tax remittances
· Conducting month-end and year-end closures and reporting
· Entering incoming payments and retainers on relevant files
· Reviewing and paying out employee reimbursements
· Reviewing and authorizing outgoing wire payments before approval by a Lawyer
· Maintaining firm insurance
· Handle monitoring and payment of various association fees for the Lawyers and Partners
· Preparing Law Society reports
· Correcting entries and tracking down entries that were not posted
· Support staff in using accounting software
· Assist with Payroll when responsible staff member is out of office
· Assist with transactions on Partnership related accounts
· Liaise with banks when issues arise
· Other general administrative duties
Requirements
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Able to multi-task, prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
· Excellent data entry skills
· Great interpersonal and customer service skills
· Similar experience as a staff accountant or relevant role in accounting
· Familiarity with legal accounting software would be an asset

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
