What is the role?
As a General Accountant, you will be a key part of the finance team, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and facilitating smooth financial processes. Your focus will be on managing reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting month-end close activities while assisting in the overall financial organization of the head office.
What will you do?
- Conduct daily deposit and sales reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy across a multi-unit network.
- Perform thorough bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations to support consistent financial reporting.
- Maintain and analyze inventory adjustments and accounts payable processes for efficient cash flow management.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls by reviewing employee expenses and importing reports in Sage.
- Support month-end close activities and generate reports to assist in strategic financial analysis.
We're looking for someone with:
- 3+ years of experience in an intermediate accounting role, with a track record of accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills to effectively review and solve accounting issues.
- Proven communication and collaboration skills to work within a diverse and fast-paced team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with Sage300 experience as an asset, and a commitment to professional growth (CPA designation is an asset).
