Your new company
Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a industrial construction company located in Mississauga, ON. We are looking to hire a Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team on a contract basis of 6 months, which has the possibility of extension/ permanent. This candidate will be working from their Mississauga Office on a full time basis.
Your new role
- Verifies invoices against Purchase Orders (POs), packing lists and receiving reports to ensure the prices and quantity are correct
- Prepares and processes check runs, electronic payments on a regular basis
- Mail cheques and files all AP related documents
- Reconciles vendor statements against records on file and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintains vendor’s files and responds to internal and external inquiries
- Maintains, files and safeguards all accounts payable information
- Provides supporting documents for audits
- Assists in the annual physical inventory and cost change
- Provides support to the Finance team and other departments to assist with various ad hoc analysis
- Other office administration duties as required
What you will need:
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration required
- 2 - 3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Must be familiar with QuickBooks
- Ability to manage the full AP cycle with full ownership of the role
- Computer Literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Customer Service and Client Communication is required
- Ability to problem solve and deal with issues in a timely manner
- Strong analytical skills
- High sense of urgency and strong work ethic
- Team oriented – ability to work well with others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
