Full Job description
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic Staff Accountant with a minimum of four years' recent public practice experience to join our close knit team of professionals at our vibrant Mississauga office.
This role is perfect for those who are eager to pursue a rewarding career in Public Accounting and make a real impact. At AMPC you will have exposure to a wide range of clients and industries, with a focus on meeting our client's needs in an efficient and friendly manner.
You will have responsibility for the completion of files individually and as part of a team, working directly for Principal/Managers. Successful candidates will demonstrate their ability to work well with minimal supervision and balance multiple tasks and files.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Compilation engagements and financial statements for clients in a variety of industries
- Preparation of audit and review engagements, financial statements and supporting working papers with minimal supervision
- Preparation of Corporate, Partnership and Trust tax returns
- Preparation of tax compliance and information filings including T4, T5, EHT, HST and WSIB filings
- Ensuring that all audit and accounting issues are properly identified and resolved in a timely manner
- Understanding accounting technical standards relevant to financial reporting in Canada
- Directly working with clients to co-ordinate the efficient completion of engagements, request necessary information, and review accounting transactions.
- Correspondence with CRA regarding corporate, personal, payroll, and sales tax issues.
- Effectively communicating with the team, clients, and relevant government agencies
- ·Should be Able to complete a Client’s file independently right from entering the data till passing closing entries and preparing the Financial Statements
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in Bookkeeping, Accounting, GST/HST Filings and preparation and filing of T2 Corporate Returns is required preferably within a Canadian Public Accounting Practice environment doing full cycle Accounting, Bookkeeping & Tax Filing
- Advance working knowledge of desktop Quickbooks, online Quickbooks, Excel, Word, Caseware and other software related to the efficient delivery of financial information
- Excellent English communication skills both written & oral
- Tech Savvy – You should be reasonably inclined toward technology and be adaptable to learn new software tools
- Should be Accountable, Problem Solver and Customer Centric
- University degree is a must
- Working towards CPA designation is preferred
- Should be able to speak in both English and Hindi
