Enterprise Group, Inc. is seeking a candidate to join their Fort St. John location, Evolution Power Projects Inc. You will be working alongside other members of Enterprise’s Finance Team and report to the Vice President of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer.

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department at our Fort St. John office. In this “hands on” role, the successful candidate will navigate the financial direction of the company, manage the complexities of the oilfield industry and ensure financial efficiency, effectiveness and profitability. This position is will also assist with the preparation the financial reporting requirements of the parent, a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”).
Key Responsibilities: Including but not limited to
- Prepare all financial functions including reporting, asset continuities, cash flow, including monthly financial statements, working papers and other required reporting.
- Develop and manage the company's budgets and forecasts in conjunction with head office, monitor variances and provide strategic recommendations to senior management
- Oversee all AP/AR functions, monitor cash/account balances to ensure the company can meet its financial obligations
- Implement strategies to optimize cash resources and identify/mitigate financial losses
- Lead, support, train and mentor the accounting team and provide training and development opportunities
- Conduct financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities; present findings and recommendations to support strategic decision-making of the operation
- Assess existing financial processes, systems, and policies; Recommend improvements to increase operational efficiency
- Ensure disclosure controls, procedures, accounting policies and related documentation are maintained
- Assist the general manager in day-to-day decision making by providing financial and operations information as needed
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
Other Responsibilities: Assist with Public Company Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of all financial reporting requirements including quarterly and annual financial statements and Management Discussion & Analysis as required under IFRS accounting standards, for board approval and TSX filings
- Prepare and file appropriate reports with regulators, government and other external stakeholders in a timely manner
- Assist with high-level financial functions including reporting, tax planning, assets, cash flow, and short and long-term strategic financial and business planning for a publicly traded company and its subsidiaries, including consolidated financial statements
- Maintain the corporation’s capital assets program including, monthly/quarterly reporting, budgeting, additions/disposals, deprecation, and debt workbook
- Assist in the day-to-day coordination with external auditors, including quarterly reviews, annual financial statements, statutory audits and compliance
- Participate in analysis and special projects related to business development, financing transactions and other corporate level initiative
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- A CPA designation is required
- 3-5 years relevant experience as a financial controller
- In-depth knowledge of accounting & financial principles, and IFRS reporting standards
- Experience with public company reporting and auditing
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members
- Experience in budgeting and financial reporting
- Experience with Sage 300 and Caseware/Caseview is an asset
