Position Summary
The President & COO – Bermuda has responsibility for Axcelus’ Bermuda domiciled life insurance companies. This includes building out distribution channels and developing and implementing the business strategy. This role will work closely with Axcelus distribution leaders to grow our International individual life and annuity sales and will provide all new business support and ongoing administrative support for our global Group Variable Annuity (GVA) businesses.
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead Axcelus Representative with the Bermuda Monetary Authority as appropriate to maintain Axcelus’s good standing
- Responsible for all corporate governance requirements. This includes oversight of compliance functions and large case onboarding protocols such as adherance to AML/KYC requirements
- Ensure that the global GVA business is supported from an onboarding perspective as well as an ongoing servicing perspective
- Lead offshore business line
- Collaborate with Axcelus’ home office for shared services in support of business objectives
- Develop and maintain relationships with key local service providers
- Act as Director and Officer of Axcelus Bermuda entities
- Oversight and review regulatory fillings
- Ensure appropriate risk management and controls are in place and adhered to
- Ensure support and appropriate resources that allow the Bermuda team to meet the demands of the office and allow for scale
- Play a critical role in the budget planning and financial oversight of the Bermuda carriers
Skills And Experience
- Capable of strategic thinking with the ability to execute a vision
- Experience working with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients and their representatives
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills Creative problem solver; solutions oriented
- Proven leadership ability
- Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Experience and knowledge of the Bermuda regulatory environment
- Strong understanding of Bermuda corporate governance requirements
- Substantial international experience in financial services
- Ability to lead and develop a strong team
- BA/BS degree
- 10+ years of experience required
- Travel required
