Job Title: General Accountant

My client, a manufacturing construction company in Guelph, is looking for a General Accountant to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:
Payroll:
- Collect and process employee timesheets.
- Manage payroll entries and ensure timely pay cheques.
- Handle source deductions filing and remittance.
- Oversee employee expenses and reimbursements.
Accounting:
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Prepare and issue customer invoices.
- Manage AR collections and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Process and file customer remittances.
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Organize and file purchase orders and packing slips.
- Enter and file vendor invoices.
- Allocate job costs and manage project allocations.
- Issue payments and EFTs to vendors.
- Handle vendor remittances and maintain effective communication.
General Accounting:
- Maintain organized filing systems.
- Manage retirement plan contributions (RRSP).
- Handle WSIB premiums and ensure compliance.
- File and remit HST/GST, corporate taxes, and employer health tax.
Accounting Processes:
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare and record monthly accruals.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports.
- Conduct job profitability analysis to support decision-making.
Education:
- University or college degree in a related field; a major in business or economics is an asset.
Skills:
- 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
