Community Living Windsor is a social service organization that provides supports and services to people who have an intellectual disability and their families. We are currently seeking a:
Full Time Human Resources Manager
(40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(Hours and days of week subject to change and weekend hours may be required on occasion.)
This non-union position will work within the department of Human Resources, reporting to the Director of Human Resources. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the organization’s scheduling department.
- Supervise the duties of the Human Resource administrative assistant.
- Collaborate with management and union representatives to improve the work environment and address employee issues.
- Develop and implement employee training plans.
- Assist employees with benefits, leaves, claims and accommodation requests.
- Provide HR guidance and support for employee-related matters.
- Maintain confidential and accurate personnel files and related documentation.
- Conduct investigations as needed.
- Develop, review and update agency policies/job descriptions, as required.
- Collect and report on HR metrics.
- Recruitment of new staff, including external recruitment strategies, interviewing, screening of candidates, and associated duties.
- Develop and maintain AODA policies and documentation.
- Development and oversight of all staff retention strategies.
- Understanding of Workplace Safety Insurance Board reports and claims, return to work and accommodations, short term / long term / leaves of absence.
- Oversight of attendance management practices.
- Attend HR conferences, training, and development courses.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- A demonstrated understanding of the goals, mission, and values of Community Living Windsor.
- A post-secondary diploma/degree in social services and/or human resources or labour relations.
- Previous experience in human resources and/or a supervisory/management capacity.
- A CHRP or CHRL designation is strongly preferred for this position.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office/Windows and HRIS systems (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
- Problem solving skills; strong critical thinking, creative problem solving and decision-making ability.
- Advanced knowledge of Ontario Labour Relations act, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Experience with online recruitment, social media, and talent marketing is an asset.
- Working knowledge of payroll/scheduling systems within a Collective Agreement is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in support of a consultative, team-oriented environment.
- Management style, coupled with a sophisticated knowledge of organizational culture, reform, strategic planning, quality improvement and stakeholder collaboration.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license.
- Clear Criminal Reference Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
