Osco Mudjacking & Construction Ltd., a Southside construction company, requires a dependable, positive attitude person to fill the role of Bookkeeper within its 1 person accounting department.
This position requires minimum 3 years construction bookkeeping experience.
The position is full time, and year-round with the added benefit of having some seasonally-adjusted hours allowing a degree of flexibility for personal time during colder months.
Position Overview:
- Produce accounts receivable invoices, post payments and A/R collections
- Post and pay accounts payable invoices.
- Calculate, prepare and pay payroll through TelPay.
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
- Prepare and pay tax returns including corporate, GST, and source deduction taxes.
- Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.
- Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports as required.
- Post Journal entries.
- Proper reconciliation of accounts.
- Review of trial balance and financial statements.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Prepare job cost reports and export data for use in spreadsheets.
- Together with the Admin Assistant, answering multi-line phone system and other assigned office duties.
- Construction industry experience would be an asset.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years construction bookkeeping experience.
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- High level of proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Word programs.
- Proven full-cycle bookkeeping experience.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
Wage is commensurate with experience.
