Job Overview:
SkyCap Financial is seeking an experienced Collection Manager to oversee and drive results for our collections department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team dedicated to recovering past-due balances, managing delinquent accounts, and ensuring that arrears processes are handled effectively. This role requires a strong collections background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to analyze and report data using advanced Excel functionalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide a team of collections agents, ensuring they meet performance targets and adhere to company policies.
- Delinquency Management: Oversee the collections process for delinquent accounts, implementing strategies to improve collection rates and reduce overall delinquencies.
- Recovery Strategies: Develop and execute recovery strategies for past-due balances, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to collection efforts, arrears management, and recovery rates.
- Reporting and Analysis: Utilize advanced Excel skills to create reports, dashboards, and conduct data analysis that provides insights into team performance and overall collection trends.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review and improve collection processes to increase efficiency and success rates.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all collections activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, while also identifying and mitigating risks related to recovery operations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with other departments, including originations, administration, risk management, and finance, to ensure alignment on recovery processes and account status updates.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a collections or recovery role.
- At least 2 years of experience in managing a team within a collections or financial services environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and process tracking (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Familiarity with collections software and CRM systems is an asset.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
