Job Summary:
The Manager, Accounting provides specialized accounting support to the organization, involving independent judgment and action. This role also provides excellent opportunity for an individual to gain exposure to all aspects of the business and work with team members who are process improvement-driven and excel in their specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle corporate accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for all legal corporate entities. Ensure adherence to reporting timelines and compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Complete the month-end close on time with quality and according to the company’s policies
- Review and supervise monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations
- Coach and leverage offshore accounting team for ME deliverables and improving the quality of financials
- Prepare and report on key Balance sheet metrics and provide detail analysis on overall organization financial health
- Review intercompany transactions and reconcile the intercompany accounts.
- Advise on new or changed accounting principles and practices that impact finance processes and organization overall
- Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for improvement and participate in the deployment of new modules and processes
- Collaborate with our ERP implementation team to migrate financial information on time and accurately
- Maintain deep knowledge of team functions and ensure all team members are adequately trained to effectively and efficiently perform their assigned tasks
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, facilitating audit processes and ensuring the timely provision of required documentation
- Manage tax filing processes to ensure compliance with corporate tax, HST and other government reconciliations and remittances
- Coordinate with tax advisor and tax authorities, ensuring the smooth and timely completion of tax compliance
- Lead and develop the corporate finance team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development
- Lead and support adhoc Projects and drive process efficiencies
Qualifications:
- CPA in good standing.
- 2-3 years of progressive experience as an Accounting Manager
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in US GAAP
- Must be strong in data analytics with proficiency in Power BI/Tableau
- Experience with Oracle or SAP will be considered an asset
- Reliable, trustable, and able to work with various teams in different locations.
- Excellent judgement, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively and independently and to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
