About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Manager of Accounting to join our dynamic team providing management and oversight for our Canadian companies. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage comprehensive full-cycle accounting activities for multiple Canadian entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department and ensures completeness and accuracy of departmental work.
- Monitor performance of assigned employees and develop/maintain a strong team using coaching, mentoring and support of individual and team professional development needs.
- Provide coverage for accounting team members during vacations or absences, ensuring continuity of financial operations.
- Oversee payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments, compliance with relevant regulations, and proper handling of payroll taxes and benefits deductions.
- Conduct thorough bank reconciliations for all entities, identifying discrepancies and making necessary adjustments.
- Provide ongoing accounting support for group entities, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and ensuring accurate financial data.
- Handle all government remittances, including GST, PST, and payroll taxes, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.
- Create year-end working papers, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and ready for external audits.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, variances, and financial trends.
- Assist VP of Finance in preparing the year-end financial reporting package, ensuring all financial information is accurate and in compliance with accounting standards.
- Identify accounting issues, errors, or discrepancies; conduct thorough investigations to determine root causes.
- Work closely and collaboratively with clients, finance, and operations team members to build and maintain strong working relationships and support business objectives.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the VP of Finance, including special projects, process improvements, and contributing to company-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation or actively in pursuit required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Proficient in ASPE, GAAP, MS Office, SAGE, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Proven leader with the ability to guide, mentor, and provide feedback while effectively supporting and meeting the needs of the team.
- Attention to detail, organization and numeracy skills are essential.
- Honesty, integrity, transparency and reliability essential.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving skills and analytical skills necessary.
- Self-motivated with a 'can do' attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
