Job Title: Junior Corporate Accountant
Location: Liberty Village, Downtown Toronto
Position Type: Contract, 6 months to start, possibility to extend or convert to a full time permanent position
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Corporate Accountant to join our finance team on a 6-month contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, accounting processes, and compliance activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to contribute to a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capital Asset: Assist in preparing the working papers to capitalize the various assets monthly and maintain a tracker. Reconcile fixed assets sub‐ledger to the fixed assets general ledger and perform monthly roll forward.
- Tax Compliance : Prepare and review tax returns, including GST, corporate income tax, and other relevant tax filings. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international tax regulations and reporting requirements. Assist in the preparation of tax provision calculations and supporting documentation.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries, and ensuring all financial records are complete and accurate.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong background in corporate accounting.
- Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
