Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering and construction services firm serving industries worldwide. An exciting opportunity is available for an Intermediate Accountant located in our client's Hamilton office. This position is ideal for a motivated individual who is looking to advance their career in accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, review for input accuracy, and prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, and journal entries as needed.
- In collaboration with the team, oversee full cycle of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll processing functions.
- Maintain and reconcile monthly intercompany transactions.
- Oversee sales tax filings and ensure compliance in all jurisdictions.
- Remain updated on current software and accounting best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation or in the process of completing the designation
- Three or more years of experience, with a preference for experience in the engineering or construction industry or a related field
- High volume intercompany accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Advanced computer skills (MS Excel, Word)
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects Simultaneously
