Overview
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller in managing the Go Sales group of company’s finances. This includes processing accounts receivable and payables, in house and commission payrolls, and expenses disbursements, as well as developing or supporting financial reporting and budgets.
Your place of employment is deemed for all purposes to be in British Columbia, Canada, working in a largely remote capacity. We meet infrequently in-person, based out of our virtual offices in Metro Vancouver.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Regular expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Financial Management
- Daily Bookkeeping
- Assistance with weekly compensation preparation
- Bi-Weekly Payroll
- AD hoc Report for Manager’s needs
- Develop and analysis of monthly cost reporting and project forecasts
- Work with the project management team to complete the Monthly Management Reviews and cost reports
Business Support
- Provide analysis and support to the controller to aid in understanding of business unit statements and financial implications of business decisions
- Assist in the development of operational and fiscal budgets
- Understand tax, risk management, financial statements, provincial implications, WCB and payroll implications
- Provide reporting and information to Project Management & Operations as required
- Investigate inquires and anomalies, as required
Experience / Skills
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years experience supporting financial projects/experience in a Financial/accounting role in Canada
- Strong knowledge of contractual, legal and commercial terms as it relates to the construction industry and partnering
- Financial acumen regarding resource utilization, and profitability analysis
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Working knowledge of accounting systems Quickbooks.
- Preferred ERP Experience
- Working knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flawless ethical approach, with a can-do attitude.
Education

- Required: College, Trade or Technical Diploma (2 yr) Business
- Preferred (if applicable): Bachelor's Degree Business/Commerce
