Primary Focus
This role is responsible for bookkeeping and invoicing duties related to Accounts Receivable and Payable to ensure the efficiency and productivity of the company.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Bookkeeping
o Responsible for Accounts Payable tracking/processing/reconciliation activities in QuickBooks
o Responsible for Accounts Receivable reports/collections/follow up on discrepancies
o Prepares bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
o Prepares and maintains accounting documents and records
o Reconciles employee expenses
o Responsible for credit card reconciliation
o Submits quarterly WCB payments and monthly GST and corporate tax installments
o Reconcile multi-company bank accounts
- Building & Processing Client Invoices
o Creates invoices using QuickBooks software
o Customizes customers’ invoice templates as requested
o Works with vendors to resolve invoicing queries
- Filing Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Documents
o Responsible for filing Berto & related companies, Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable documents
- Administrative Support
o Handles correspondence by answering emails & sorting mail
o Keeps well-organized files & records of business activities
o Maintains office files related to company’s operations
- Performs other general office & administrative tasks outside what has been outlined in this job description
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· High school graduation and general courses or training in word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
· Minimum of 3 year’s experience in bookkeeping and/or basic accounting role
· Minimum of 1 year of experience with QuickBooks
· Self motivated
· Strong team player
· Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to handle confidential material with discretion
Physical Demands:
· The AP/AR is required to sit/view the computer monitor for prolonged periods of time.
Reporting Structure:
· The AP/AR reports directly to the President of the company. The Office AP/AR has no direct reports.
