My client is a successful, reputable and growing electrical contractor with its head office based in Mississauga.
Your new role
The Accounting Manager will provide support and direction to a team of two who are responsible for invoicing, contract administration, work orders and administrative support. The Accounting Manager will be hands on in the processing of Payroll in Jonas, will manage accounts receivable and accounts payable ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The Accounting Manager will review service contracts updating pricing and ensuring the company’s adherence to agreed contract terms. The position will manage the administration for their vehicle fleet, handle all associated running costs for their offices(utilities, taxes etc), business insurance and manage general administration aspects for the office. The Accounting Manager will handle the accounting for their projects including progress draws. The position will liaise and work closely with their external accounting firm who provide support at month and year end.
What you'll need to succeed
The suitable candidate will have a degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting, with a CPA designation considered an asset. You will have 5-10+ years overall experience within a small to medium sized construction related operation where you have held a broad responsibility for both accounting and administrative areas. You must have an excellent working knowledge of the Jonas Construction Accounting Software, including all aspects of A/R, Job Costing, A/P, and Payroll, and will be expected to provide leadership in the day-to-day office administration. You should enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
