Accountant
Summary: We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the CFO, the Accountant will be responsible for assisting in various accounting tasks including but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, payroll support, general ledger entries, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the payroll process
- Analyze and reconcile financial data
- Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing
- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions
- Processes backup reports after data entry
- Assists in the management of the weekly disbursement process and prepares manual checks as required
- Oversees and ensures that maintenance to the vendor master file is performed in accordance with the governance policies of the company
- Maintains listing of accounts payable data, and monthly reconciles subsidiary ledger to the general ledger accounts
- Makes electronic deposits to company bank accounts
- Keeping accurate records of payments that they receive from customers
- Prepares bank deposit summaries
- Assist in month-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist in audit preparations and provide necessary documentation and support
- Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve accounting processes and efficiency
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience with payroll
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates integrity and innovative thinking
- Uses sound judgment when setting priorities and meeting deadlines
- Possesses good communication, management, and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative team player
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
- CPA designation (or working towards it) is an asset but not requiref
