Strangmuir Farms is a large feedlot of approximately 24,000 head of cattle that has proudly been producing Canadian Beef for more than 50 years. This family owned and operated business is looking for an energetic, motivated individual to work with the leadership team as the Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high level of attention to detail and an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of company financial records through the completion of the month end process and ensuring that the trial balance is complete and accurate.
- Reconciliation of Banks, General Ledger accounts, sub-ledgers and more.
- Inventories
- Capital assets, property, plant and equipment.
- Financial Statements
- Payroll
- Assist in the review and approval of day-to-day accounting transactions performed by other team members.
- Other duties and projects that are assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Post secondary education with a major in accounting.
- 5+ years’ work experience
- Proficient computer skills, (Microsoft Dynamics an asset)
Compensation:
- The starting annual salary range is $60,000-$75,000 based on experience and qualifications.

- Hours of work M-F 7:00am to 4:00 pm
