Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accountant to oversee and manage all financial aspects of the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing detailed financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with Canadian financial laws and regulations. Responsibilities
- Plan, set up, and administrate accounting systems; prepare financial information for departments and management within the organization.
- Examine accounting records, prepare financial statements, and generate reports to analyze the company’s financial performance.
- Develop and maintain cost finding, reporting, and internal control procedures to ensure financial accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Review financial accounts, prepare income tax documentation, and ensure compliance with the Canadian Tax Act.
- Conduct audits of financial transactions and records and prepare audit reports to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
- Prepare and manage budget forecasts, ensuring they are in line with financial goals and objectives.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, reconcile accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor and report on the company's financial health, liquidity, and profitability, providing actionable insights for business improvement.
- Maintain financial documents, ensuring they are properly filed and stored in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage subcontractor timesheets and accounting processes.
- Oversee expense management for both internal and external purchases.
- Prepare and analyze project profit and loss statements.
- Ensure proficiency in milestone billing and related processes.
- Prepare financial documentation for ISO audits.
- Generate and manage accounts receivable and payable statements.
Skills
- Excellent understanding of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). a solid understanding of Canadian financial laws.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Excel, including experience with pivot tables.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field and QuickBooks.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
