Job Title: Staff Accountant, Audit and Assurance

Permanent, Full-Time
Our client, a public accounting firm in Oakville, ON is currently looking for a Staff Accountant, Audit and Assurance to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Assurance team to complete audits and reviews.
- Ability to complete smaller audits start to finish
- Would be expected to travel to clients
- Assistance on larger audit engagements and tax assignments
- Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions.
- Prepare Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) returns, financial statements, and personal and corporate tax returns.
- Preparation of Financial Statements.
- Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
- Completion of bookkeeping for clients.
- Assistance with documentation related to financial planning.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary accounting education is a must
- Minimum 3 years experience in public accounting.
- CPA designated or pursuing is a must.
- Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills allowing effective interaction with staff and clients.
- Strong working knowledge with CaseWare, Profile/TaxPrep, MS Office and QuickBooks.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
