MISSION
The Director of Finance & Accounting is a key member who will oversee and support the day-to-day financial and administrative processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the monthly preparation of financial statements, reports to funders, and accounts payable and receivable.
The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a compassionate and hands-on leader to fulfill the role of the Director of Finance & Accounting.
PRIORITIES
- Manages the administration of all financial records, accounting processes and monthly, accumulative and annual financial reports and statements
- Banking and accounting requirements, deposits, payments of expenses and producing cheques.
- Ensure payables, receivables, and related functions are processed accurately and on schedule
- Monitor and review the posting and balancing of all journals, ledgers and records, producing or directing the production of trial balances and other accounting techniques
- Ensure all financial activities meet legislative and funding Ministry regulations, and other funding sources' requirements and deadlines, as well as agency policies and directions
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
TALENTS & EXPERTISE
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum three (3) years experience working in an accounting position in a not-for-profit organization
- CPA or CA qualifies is considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to be organized and manage multiple priorities
- Detail oriented
- Knowledge of the Adagio software in a non-profit setting considered an asset
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours
