Job Overview: As a key hire, the experienced cloud-based Bookkeeper will play an integral role in shaping the future of our firm. Working closely with the founder, this is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional to contribute significantly to our culture and processes. You will be at the forefront of implementing cloud accounting systems, managing client accounting functions, and contributing to their success. The ideal candidate will be proficient in cloud accounting software (QBO and Sage50) and possess a deep understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices. This role involves managing the financial records of multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients using cloud-based accounting software (QBO or Sage50)
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks such as recording transactions, reconciling bank statements, processing payments and payroll
- Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Prepare for financial audits and work with auditors to assist in the completion of financial audits
- Prepare management reports with key takeaways and insights for clients
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Assist with monitoring cash flow, budgeting and financial forecasting
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of cloud-based accounting systems for new clients
- Provide exceptional client service, focusing on understanding and meeting the unique accounting needs of our industry
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience with a cloud-based accounting firm
- Proven expertise and knowledge of cloud-based accounting software (QBO, Sage50)
- Prior audit experience
- Experience with Dext and Plooto, as well as various payroll processers (Ceridian, WagePoint, PayWorks, ADP, etc.)
- Experience with clients in the non-profit sector
- Experience onboarding clients
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting best practices, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, client-service, and interpersonal skills
- High degree of resourcefulness, adaptability, and problem-solving capability
- Eagerness to learn and continuously develop
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
