Key Responsibilities
- Post monthly journal entries for month-end close
- Prepare monthly Accrual schedules
- Complete account reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), inventory, and other general ledger accounts
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare monthly GST/HST returns
- Maintain and update accounting records and files
- Assist with pulling documentation to support our annual review external review engagement
- Monitor and maintain financial information in accounting systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Review and approve weekly employee time cards
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned
Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
- Experience in the manufacturing industry
