Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. This person would be responsible for full cycle accounting including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with the possibility to expand to more tasks including various month-end reporting and reconciliations
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Reception related tasks:
· Answer phone and route incoming phone inquiries
· Manage incoming and outgoing mail including purchasing postage
· Monitor and maintain office supplies, breakroom supplies and servicing for office equipment
· Assist with administrative tasks including filing, scanning, maintaining spreadsheets, performing follow up phone calls etc. for various departments as required
· Meal and travel arrangements for visitors and executives as required
Accounts payable tasks:
· Review and enter PO related AP invoices into ERP System
· Code and enter non-PO invoices including employee expenses, credit cards, etc.
· Resolve discrepancies and make appropriate adjustments
· Reconcile monthly supplier statements to invoices entered
· Managing vendor records including new vendors or updating existing records
· Process AP payment runs, including EFTs, wires and cheques
Accounts receivable tasks:
· Invoicing standard orders, service jobs or deposit invoices including sending or uploading to customer portals
· Managing deferred revenue spreadsheet and following up as required
· AR management including follow up with customers as needed for collection
· Customer management - credit checks for new customers, reviewing credit limits and terms for current customers
Potential for additional responsibilities including various tax filing (GST, PST, WCB, EHT) and various reconciliations and reporting for month end.
Skills/Qualifications
· Minimum 1 year of accounting relevant experience
· Completion of accounting degree or working towards completion
· Excellent communication including strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· ERP familiarity is an asset
