Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative team player to join our golf course management team. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and demonstrate a strong commitment to working with the Food & Banquet, Golf, and Marketing managers in a collegial and supportive manner. Additionally, the candidate will identify opportunities for bookkeeping and administrative process efficiencies through innovative thinking.
The position is part time, 2 days per week, in-office/WFO. Mondays plus one additional day, to be scheduled monthly. There is some option for remote work/WFH within this framework.
Qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge of QuickBooks on-line accounting system
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping/administrative role

Key Responsibilities (Bookkeeper):
- Consistent posting in proper time period
- Bi-weekly scrutiny of payroll and payroll hours
- Control of payments to avoid interest and/or overdue charges
- M/E reconciliations of credit book accounts; reconciliation of gratuity payments, and balance sheet accounts
- QuickBooks month end reports – balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow, actual to budget, designed variance reports
- Payroll including inputting payroll hours for process by company’s payroll company; confirmation of manager approval of hours for the pay period
- Posting of invoices
- Payment of A/P by on-line banking; cheque preparation; Visa
- Petty Cash recap report
- Year reconciliation of credit book accounts, rain checks, prepaid golf, HST reconciliation for year to G/L revenue account, WSIB account
- Year-end preparation for external accountant preparation of company tax filing
NOTE: An external bookkeeper takes care of the monthly bank, Visa and petty cash reconciliations, payroll reconciliations between payroll report, payments and quarterly preparation of HST filing with CRA.
Key Responsibilities (Office Administrator):
- Filing and filing system management
- General office organization
- Editing and printing of regular notices ie: cart promo signs, clubhouse promo signs
- Assisting Golf Manager and F&B Manager with administrative tasks
Required Skill Set:
- Strong Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks online
- Excellent data entry skills
- Experience with setting up budget; variance reports, and month end reporting within QuickBooks
- Understanding of the bank and credit card reconciliation process within QuickBooks
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Employment Package:
- 16 hours per week / minimum 64-80 hours per month
- Hourly rate: $28 - $33
- Yearly bonus program up to 10% of yearly compensation based on agreed upon work performance objectives
