Overview
managing various accounting functions within the Public Accounting Firm. Their clients generally range from small to medium-sized businesses which contain a diverse portfolio of industries. This Public Accounting Firm is registered as a CPA training office and allows employees and staff to get a broad range of experience in financial reporting.
Duties
- Have on the job experience with current accounting software (Quickbooks Online) and its use in organizing and recording transactions
- Use the technical knowledge you have acquired to carry out work projects and assignments under the direct supervision of a manager, partner or other experienced team member
- Develop a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts and bookkeeping policies and procedures
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions
- Maintain and balance a general ledger monthly, quarterly or annually
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends
- Comply with all local, provincial and federal payroll and employment standard laws; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Develop a high level of competency
- Ensure and maintain the highest standard of professional integrity and competence
- Possess a working knowledge of the firms systems, research materials and quality control procedures
- Prepare working papers following the firms standards
- Pose questions promptly
- Attempt to identify issues within assigned sections and to obtain assistance from Senior staff as needed
- Respond to queries on a timely basis
- Other duties as assigned relevant to your education and growth as a Junior or Senior Bookkeeper
Requirements
- MUST have on the job experience with current accounting software with Quickbooks Online specifically and others being a bonus as well as it’s use in organizing and recording transactions
- MUST possess a valid drivers licence and have access to a vehicle for use during the workday
- Be open to continuous learning to improve one’s technical skills to ensure the highest professional standards
- Display excellent verbal and written skills
- Possess exceptional people skills
- Have an aptitude and experience geared towards analytical skills as well as interpersonal skills
- Have proven experience working under strict deadlines with the ability to prioritize job functions
Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 37.5 hours / week (May to December)
- 40 hours / week (January to April)
