Senior Tax Analyst
Job Summary
The Senior Tax Analyst position is responsible for supporting the Corporate Taxation group in tax compliance, provision, forecasting, audit defense, tax planning and administrative matters.
Responsibility
- Assist with quarterly and annual external reporting as it relates to financial statement income tax provisions.
- Preparation of tax provision working papers including reconciliation of all tax accounts.
- Assist with Canadian tax filings and reporting including annual corporate tax returns, tax installments, foreign affiliate tax filings, transfer pricing reporting and country by country reporting.
- Coordinate with the tax consultants on the yearly US tax compliance filings
- Support Taxation Manager in responding to queries from external and government auditors; internal plant accounting managers and external service providers.
- Assist with the updating of the annual transfer pricing Masterfile and similar reports.
- Support the Tax Manager on M&A and other special projects.
- Work together with the SR&ED team to prepare the scientific research & experimental development taxation claims.
Academic/Educational Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent.
- CPA designation or in progress.
- CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course or willingness to complete.
- Minimum 3 years of multinational corporate or large public accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge of financial reporting under IFRS or US GAAP
Previous transfer pricing and/or international tax experience considered an asset
