Job Summary
The Bravura Group of Companies is a distributor of specialty architectural products. Bravura is looking for an ambitious, talented and motivated Office and Accounting Administrator to join our team of professionals.
This full-time permanent position reports directly to the Financial Controller. You will provide support to the Project Management, Project Coordination, and Sales teams. You will be a key member of our team who will be welcoming and assisting our clients and our partners.
- Perform Accounts Receivable processing including preparing progress invoicing, monthly statements, posting in Quickbooks of AR related transactions, project budgets and change orders.
- Collections of outstanding payments
- Assist with various statutory filings and payments.
- Other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
Objectives of this role
- Support the company in optimizing our financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and customer accounts
- Communicate discrepancies to management team and identify slow-paying customers
- Strengthen and grow relationships with clients by communicating with customers regarding past-due accounts
- Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
Responsibilities
- Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
- Monitor and collect outstanding payments by contacting clients via telephone and email
- Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R so management can gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing
- Support other accounting and finance team members

- Assist with various statutory filings and payments.
- Other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
Required skills and qualifications
- Strong mathematical skills
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
- Superb time management skills and detail orientation
- Proficiency and advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office Applications and Quickbooks Desktop is a must
- Ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task on a daily basis.
- Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting.
- Basic understanding of the Construction Lien Act is an asset.
- Bilingualism in French an asset
- Completion of a post-secondary education in Business/Accounting (i.e., Community College or University degree) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 3+ years of relevant Administrative and Accounting experience in an office setting preferably in the construction industry.
- Excellent document creation, reviewing and proofreading skills with a high level of proficiency related to business correspondence and communications.
- Professional, independent, self-motivated, detail oriented and organized.
